Speaking of Business with Trees Plus

Rob and Amie Williamson acquired Trees Plus in March 2005. The company combines tree care and landscaping services.

Daily News: What prompted you to open this kind of business?

Rob Williamson: It seemed like the perfect opportunity to use our strengths to grow a business the right way. My wife and business partner, Amie, had worked with several Fortune 500 companies and had extensive knowledge of marketing, human resources, sales, etc. My background was in business management, turf management and sales.

DN: What services do you offer?

RW: Trees Plus is a full service tree care provider “Plus” landscaping services, land clearing, demolition and site prep. The tree care portion includes consulting, tree planting, fertilization, pruning, bracing and cabling, tree removal and stump grinding.

DN: What is the appeal of paying Trees Plus to do this work?

RW: Peace of mind knowing the staff of Trees Plus has the proper training and professional certifications to get the job done safely. After all, most of the hard work we do is to help protect a client’s biggest investment, their home or business.

DN: Can you help with diseased trees?

RW: We like to recommend tree removal as a last course of action. Many times, with the proper diagnosis, removal of the tree can be avoided and the health of the tree restored.

DN: How does it work? Do you visit the home or business?

RW: When clients call, they will speak directly with a Trees Plus representative to briefly describe the service they require. Each client’s question is unique. It is for that reason we must have an onsite consultation before any price is established or course of action is recommended.

DN: Who are your customers?

RW: Most of our business is repeat or referral business. The customers we service range from the individual home owner to some of the largest businesses and municipalities in the tri-county area.

DN: Have you always been interested in plants and outdoors?

RW: I love anything associated with the outdoors. The beach, hunting, fishing, hiking, you name it, as long it keeps my office time to a minimum. It probably started with my dad taking me fishing and hunting as far back as I can remember.

DN: Is anything new coming up in the future?

RW:  We anticipate launching a website during 2008 to better service our clients. Also, I will continue to work toward my Master Arborist Certification.
