Some of us have been around Northwest Florida long enough to remember Hurricanes Opal and Erin in the 1990s. For those of us who are a little newer to the area, Hurricanes Ivan and Dennis, which hit Navarre, Gulf Breeze and the Pensacola area, may still be fresh in your mind. The effects of these storms could be felt all across Northwest Florida and serve to remind us of the potential devastation we face each hurricane season. (A large part of preparing for one of these storms is tree safety.)
Trees may harbor hidden defects or growing patterns that, if left unchecked, can cause injury to the tree, individuals and/or property. Trees Plus can assess any potential hazards and recommend the proper corrective action. We understand area tree biology, physiology and dendrology, soil and weather and are qualified to make hazard tree recommendations other than the removal of suspicious trees, which is the most an unlicensed individual can suggest.
Rob Williamson, Navarre’s first arborist, can analyze and document tree strength by using the the latest in arboricutural practices. He can detect tree decay and defects in trees and provide a written assessment to recommend the best course of action for tree safety and preservation. Projected growth patterns, vitality and possible future structural problems are also included in the evaluation. Defects such as cracks, areas of decay, evidence of pest infestation, hollows and dieback will be evaluated and mapped as part of an overall tree health assessment.
